MISSION STATEMENT

UNITE. DISCIPLE. SERVE.

ARTICLES OF FAITH

1. God

We believe God exists as The Holy Trinity; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

1 John 5:7- For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

2 Corinthians 13:14- May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

Matthew 28:19- Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

2. Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus, the begotten son of God the Father, was born of a virgin after being conceived of the Holy Spirit.  We believe He was crucified, buried, resurrected, and ascended to the right hand of the Father.

Luke 1:35- And the angel answered and sad unto her The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore, also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

John 1:14- And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Matthew 28:5-6- And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.

Mark 16:19- So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.

3. Holy Spirit

We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit as manifested through gifts.

Acts 1:5- For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.

1 Corinthians 12:7-10- But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues

4. Bible

We believe the Bible is God’s Word, inspired by Him to be written by man.

2 Peter 1:20,21- Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.  For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

2 Timothy 3:16- All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

5. Repentance

We believe that mankind is born into sin.  Repentance is necessary for new birth through faith in the blood of Jesus Christ, sanctification through the Holy Spirit, and living a standard of holiness through conviction.

1 John 1:8- If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

Romans 3:23 - For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

1 John 1:9If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

1 Corinthians 6:11 - And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

2 Corinthians 7:1- Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

6. Customs

a) Water Baptism- Full body water immersion should take place after one has repented. This will be done in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost.

b) The Lord’s Supper- The bread represents the broken body of Jesus Christ and the wine represents the blood he shed.

c) Washing of the saints’ feet- Women will be separated from men. This is done to follow the example Jesus set by washing the feet of His disciples.

Matthew 28:19- Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit

1 Corinthians 11:24-25- And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, this cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.

John 13:14- If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet.

7. The Second Coming of Christ

We believe that Jesus will return, as per His word, and our purpose is to prepare ourselves and others for that union.

Matthew 25:13- Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

Hebrews 9:28- So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.
